Tackling the Future Together: What We Learned About Data Quality and AI from You

Written by Matt Gallagher | May 12, 2025 6:00:00 AM

At ins-pi, we're all about making transformation easier, faster, and more human. Recently, we asked our community a few simple - but powerful - questions about data quality and AI. The answers were eye-opening. They showed us where teams are thriving, where they're stuck, and what matters most as we all push toward smarter, faster transformation.

Here's what we learned and how we can tackle these challenges together.

Poll 1: What's Holding Teams Back on Data Quality?

When it comes to maintaining high data quality, here’s what you told us:

  • Implementing Stewardship (54%): Most teams struggle not with the tech, but with getting people, processes, and responsibilities lined up.
  • Scoping Relevant Data (33%): It’s hard to pick the right battles when data feels endless.
  • Finding Good Tools (8%): Unsurprisingly, tooling wasn’t the biggest roadblock.
  • Understanding Data Quality (8%): Some teams are still getting started and figuring out the basics.

Takeaway: It's not about buying another tool. It's about helping teams organize, own, and truly understand their data - and that’s something we love helping with.

Poll 2: What Matters Most for AI Standardization?

We also asked what’s essential when it comes to AI standardization. Your top answers:

  • Security & Privacy (40%): Teams are laser-focused on keeping data secure and compliant as they scale AI capabilities.
  • AI Model Governance (40%): Clear rules and oversight for AI are just as important as the models themselves.
  • Deployment & Integration (20%): While still important, launching AI solutions comes after trust and governance are in place.

Takeaway: Security and governance came out way ahead of deployment concerns. Before teams can innovate confidently, they need rock-solid trust in how AI systems are built, run, and protected.

And hey, building practical, real-world governance is kind of our thing. Let’s talk about it!

Poll 3: What's the Biggest Concern About AI Transformation?

When it comes to bringing AI into business, you said:

  • Security & Regulatory Compliance (53%): This is top-of-mind. No one wants to race ahead only to get tripped up by risks later.
  • Other Concerns (27%): There’s a wide range of worries - from talent gaps to change fatigue.
  • Ethics and Bias (13% each): These remain critical but aren’t the loudest immediate fears.

Takeaway: Teams are ready to move fast, but not at the expense of safety, fairness, or compliance.

What This Means for the Future

Across all three polls, a few themes stand out:

  1. It’s a People Challenge: Tools matter - but success depends even more on stewardship, governance, and real collaboration.
  2. Security Comes First: No surprise - trust is the foundation for transformation.
  3. There's Still an Education Gap: Some teams need more support getting the basics right before scaling big changes.
  4. Governance = Growth: Good governance doesn’t slow you down. It’s what unlocks innovation.

How We Can Help:

At ins-pi, we’re built to meet these needs head-on:
